EXPEDITION MONT BLANC | JULY & AUGUST 2028
The roof of Western Europe
Crampons, rope and a night in the mountain hut, to the summit of Mont Blanc.
The story of this expedition
You travel from Brussels to the French Alps. What follows is not a mountain holiday but a build up: first acclimatising on lower summits, then mastering the technique, and only then taking on the highest mountain in Western Europe. Every day takes you higher, thinner and closer to the moment when everything comes together.
The first days we head for summits around four thousand metres. Not as a warm up, but because your body needs time to adapt. You learn to walk at a steady rhythm, to breathe at altitude and to manage your energy across several days.
On the glacier you are roped to your team. You learn to walk in crampons, to self-arrest with an ice axe and to work as a rope party. From that moment you are literally connected to the people beside you: what you do, they feel.
Summit day starts in the dark from the mountain hut. Hours of walking at a steady rhythm, in the cold, with the beam of your head torch as your only horizon. Whoever reaches the top stands at the highest point in Western Europe with the whole Alpine chain at their feet.
We deliberately choose July and August: the window in which the glaciers are at their most passable, the huts are open and conditions at altitude are most stable.

Self-sufficient,
but never alone
You carry your own gear, help with the cooking and take your share of responsibility within the rope party. In the mountains there are no passengers: everyone contributes.
You learn to walk with crampons, brake with the ice axe and work as a rope team where what you do affects the others, guided by an experienced X- Guide whom you meet well in advance during the preparation programme.
Safety & guidance
Safety is the foundation of every Element X expedition. Our X Guides are professionally trained, hold WFR certificates and have years of experience in extreme conditions.
Every expedition has satellite phones, GPS tracking, safety procedures, an evacuation plan and local support in the Alps.
Before departure we also carry out a thorough risk analysis and prepare everything down to the last detail.
Guided by real expedition leaders.
You step into nature, away from the
beaten track, but always with the certainty of experienced guidance
and safety first.

We let no one step into the unknown unprepared.
An expedition of this calibre starts months in advance. The preparation programme consists of an individual phase and a group phase.
Individual phase
Starts immediately after registration. You receive an inspiration pack with practical tips, insights and exercises to start moving like an expedition member. You gather your expedition gear using the packing list (do not buy anything yet: bring what you already have to the kick off). And you share your medical information, because the best preparation is a plan for when things go wrong.
Group phase
Starts 3 to 6 months before departure with the kick off: a full day on which you meet your team, taste the expedition atmosphere and take the first steps as a group. There we plan the follow-up moments together and the WhatsApp group starts. Training includes, among other things: getting to know the group and roles, physical screening and analysis, a personalised training schedule, technical and resilience training, gear, nutrition and sleep setup, and a final check.

As seen in

Imagine: the crunch of crampons on hard ice, a rope connecting you to your team, and a sunrise you watch happen at 4,000 metres.
On Expedition Mont Blanc you discover what it means to be literally tied to the people beside you: where trust is not a word but a knot, and where the mountain decides when you may go.
